IRISH GIRL GUIDES (IGG) ARE RECRUITING A PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ADVOCACY
OFFICER.

The Irish Girl Guides is a dynamic organisation offering exciting
programmes for Girls and young women aged *,
and opportunities for women of all ages. The _mission _of the _Irish
Girl Guides_ is to “Enable Girls and young women to develop to their
fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world” and Irish
Girl Guides works from a vision of “a future which is sustainable,
diverse, and equal, where Girls and young women are empowered to
advocate and lead the way”.

IGG is a CLG and registered charity that complies with relevant legal
obligations. IGG holds itself to the highest standards of practice to
ensure transparency and accountability.

Irish Girl Guides is built on the ethos of volunteering and all our
members volunteer for the various roles in managing the organisation.

IGG employs a small number of staff to support the volunteers at both
local and national levels and both staff and volunteers are recognised
for the vital role they play in ensuring we achieve our mission and
vision.

THE IRISH GIRL GUIDES ORGANISATION IS SEEKING TO APPOINT THE FOLLOWING
POSITION.

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ADVOCACY OFFICER

KEY ASPECTS OF THE ROLE

The role is a multifaceted role.

* It involves internal communications, external communications, media
relations, event and campaign management aligned with the mission and
vision of the Irish Girl Guides.
* It requires collaborating with relevant staff and volunteers
involved in events, campaigns, and public relations.
* The role will be to develop an internal and external
communications strategy that will streamline the presentation of IGG
nationally, meet the needs of all stakeholders, and promote and
strengthen the IGG brand.
* It will involve developing creative ways to raise public awareness
of IGG to enhance recruitment of new members, both girls and
volunteers, and to enhance fundraising opportunities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

* This position will initially be for two years, with a six-month
probationary period. The current salary range is €**Apply on the
website**, * - € *K per
annum.
* The contract will be for five days per week (Monday to Friday)
normally from 9am – 5pm with some flexibility.
* Some planned evening and weekend work will be required, for which
time off is given in lieu.
* Annual leave is * days (**Apply on the
website** days plus an additional 4 days’ office closure - Easter,
Christmas).
* This job is based in IGG National Office and may involve travel
outside of Dublin.
* IGG offer flexible working options including hybrid working by
arrangement.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Significant experience working in Public Relations, Communications,
Branding and Marketing
* A proven ability to design, deliver and implement Public
Relations, Communications, Branding, Marketing strategy with
easy-to-follow processes, that will support IGG volunteers.
* A track record in developing and maintaining positive
relationships with stakeholders.
* A relevant third level or professional qualification /or
significant experience in a relevant professional sector.
* A full clean driving license and commuting cover on your Car
insurance.

DESIRABLE

* An understanding of the charity sector, relevant regulations, and
of working with volunteers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Up to date with latest PR trends and marketing best practices.
* Experience in copywriting and editing.
* Knowledge of MS Office and a can-do attitude towards learning new
IT packages experience in web design and content production is a plus,
photo- and video-editing software is an asset.
* Strong organisational skills and time management skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively
internally and externally.
* Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative, as well as
integrating with a team and adding value.
